Health and safety in science education
Andy offers advice and support in making health and safety integral to the working procedures of school science departments.
Monitoring visits, or audits, are carried out on behalf of local authorities and individual schools. These visits result in a report on current standards and, at the same time, offer extended discussion on issues and how they might be resolved. School management, heads of science and senior technicians find the discussions a great opportunity to improve and extend standards of teaching and learning as well as of health and safety.

and has contributed to the ASE/SEP CD, “Getting Started, for Heads of Science”.
He is a contributor to Croner’s “Manual for Heads of Science” and has written many articles for their “Heads of Science Briefing”. He is also Radiation Protection Officer for schools in four local authorities.
